Draft pending legal review
This document has not yet been reviewed by qualified legal counsel. It is published for information and should not be relied on as a final statement of ERAM Invest’s legal position.
The standard we target
We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.2, at conformance level AA. We treat that as a minimum rather than a goal, and we test against it rather than assuming it.
Meeting a technical standard is not the same as being usable. Where the two differ, we prioritise the person trying to use the page.
What we have done
- Navigation is fully operable by keyboard, including submenus, with visible focus and Escape to close.
- Every page has a main landmark and a skip link that works without JavaScript.
- Pages are rendered on the server, so content is available before any script runs. Where a form is open for submissions, it submits and reports its errors without JavaScript.
- Colour pairs used for text and interface elements are checked against WCAG 2.2 AA contrast thresholds automatically, and a failing pair blocks release.
- Layout uses CSS media queries and does not scroll sideways at narrow widths.
- Motion respects the operating-system reduced-motion setting.
- Interactive targets meet the minimum size guidance.
- Every page this site serves, including every published article, is audited against the WCAG 2.2 AA ruleset at both a narrow and a wide viewport before release.
What we do not claim
We do not claim conformance. Automated testing detects roughly a third of accessibility problems: it finds missing names, broken ARIA, insufficient contrast, unlabelled controls and bad heading structure. It cannot judge whether a description of a photograph is accurate, whether focus order is logical, whether an error message is comprehensible, or whether a page makes sense to somebody using a screen reader.
Our testing finds no failures against the rules it is able to check. That is a floor, not a certificate, and we will not describe it as one.
Known limitations
We publish these rather than claim full conformance. The list is updated as items are resolved.
- No audit has yet been carried out by a person using assistive technology. Until that is done, the judgements listed immediately above are untested.
- This statement records a self-assessment. No independent accessibility audit has been commissioned.
- Our logo was supplied as traced vector outlines rather than as drawn artwork, so it loses definition at high magnification. We are not permitted to redraw it, and we will not approximate it.
Reporting a problem
If you encounter a barrier on this website, please tell us. Use the contact form, or telephone us if that is easier. Describe the page and what happened, and we will respond and explain what we can do.
We will not dispute your experience of a barrier. If something did not work for you, that is information we need.
Status of this statement
